dealing with pain

Pain can take over your life. Maybe it's disturbing your sleep. Maybe you can't think of anything else. Or maybe you're taking pills just to take the edge off. And you're still in pain.

Acupuncture can help with all types of pain: skin, muscle, skeletal, and organ.

Generally speaking, four weekly visits will help us assess if treatments have been or will be helpful. If you're dealing with long-term chronic pain, it may take a bit longer.

If you are taking prescription medications, you will need to contact the prescribing doctor to discuss any changes.

how does it work?

Acupuncture is well known for its success in treating pain. It activates a number of the body's natural opioids, and releases or regulates the biochemicals involved in pain control. ATP, adenosine, GABA, and substance P are some of the biochemicals that can be influenced.

Acupuncture proves to be a safe and effective alternative to pharmaceuticals, with a long history of success.

what is it good for?

Both acute and chronic pain can be lessened using acupuncture. Acupuncture has been used successfully in the following conditions:
  • headache
  • low back pain
  • osteoarthritis
  • neck pain
  • shoulder pain
  • knee pain
  • operation preparation
